Councillor Cennard Davies
Cennard was educated at Treorchy Primary School, Porth County and University of Wales, Swansea. Cennard taught at Porth County School, Cardiff College of Education and Glamorgan College of Education and the University of Glamorgan, where he was Reader and Head of Language Studies. Author of numerous books, articles and Welsh language courses, Cennard presented Catchphrase on Radio Wales for 20 years. He assists with Rhondda''s community newspaper, Y Gloran, is a Vice-President of Treorchy Rugby Club, Secretary of Hermon Chapel and the Treorchy and District Welsh Society. Cennard is also former Chairman of Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin, he has sat on the management board of the University of Wales Press and the Court of the National Eisteddfod. As a councillor, he has a particular interest in educational and envrionmental matters and sits on the Education and Lifelong Learning Scrutiny Committee. Cennard is an experienced and passionate councillor.
