Emyr Webster has been selected as one of three Candidates for Treorci Ward for next year’s Local Council Elections, along with sitting Councillors Sêra Evans-Fear and Cennard Davies who will be seeking re-election. After giving outstanding service to the community of Treorci, Cwmparc and Ynyswen since 1999, it is with regret that the Treorci Branch of Plaid Cymru received the news that Councillor Edward Hancock has decided to retire. However, we are pleased to announce that Emyr Webster, a man who has been extremely active in the community, has been selected to replace him. 

SÊRA EVANS-FEAR 
Sera Evans FearSêra was elected as a Councillor for Treorci Ward in 2008. Sêra attends both Treorci and Ynyswen PACT meetings, she is a School Governor at Parc Primary School and Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda. She sits on the Management Committee of Parc Hall and is a member of the Council''s Education and Lifelong Learning Committee. Born and bred in Cwmparc, Sêra was educated at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Ynyswen, Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda and Oxford, where she graduated in Modern Languages. Sêra is, at present a Schools and Colleges Liaison Officer at the University of Glamorgan. Sêra is an enthusiastic, outspoken and caring councillor, who is well-known for her tenacity and proactive attitude. 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CENNARD DAVIES

Cennard DaviesCennard was educated at Treorci Primary School, Porth County and University of Wales, Swansea. He taught at Porth County School, Cardiff College of Education, and the University of Glamorgan, where he was Head of Language Studies. Author of numerous books, articles and Welsh language courses, he assists with Rhondda''’s community newspaper, Y Gloran, is a Vice-President of Treorchy Rugby Club, Secretary of Hermon Chapel and Treorchy and District Welsh Society. Cennard has a particular interest in educational and environmental matters and sits on the Education and Lifelong Learning Scrutiny Committee. Cennard is an experienced and passionate councillor.
 

 
 
 
EMYR WEBSTER

EmyrEmyr has strong connections with all parts of Treorci Ward and has a thorough knowledge of the community. After living thirteen years in Cwmparc, he now lives in High Street, Treorci. Educated at Treorci Comprehensive School, Emyr went on to work in St Athan as an Aircraft Fitter, but was well-known as the manager of Decomate in Bute Street. Emyr was the Secretary of the Treorci Chamber of Trade at this time and he has served on various School Governing Bodies. He was also one of the organisers of the recent Treorci Festival. He currently works in The Tattoo Studio, Pentre and also installs domestic photovoltaic solar panels. Emyr is a personable, energetic young man with a strong community conscience who will serve the ward well. We hope that you will give him your support.
